Job Details

• Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (06:30 AM - 03:00 PM)
• On-call: One week on call, one week off call
• Specialty: Cath Lab Technician in Radiology/Cardiology

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of prior hospital Cath Lab Tech experience (highest required years of experience)
• Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Certifications & Licensure

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• ARRT-R or RCIS certification required
• Texas Medical Board MRT (state licensure) required at time of submission (only if candidate has ARRT-R; not required for RCIS)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• I9 or Attestation
• Valid government-issued Photo ID or Passport
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG (all within 30 days of start)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 30 days of start (no rapid screens)
• Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months, with annual updates and follow-up for positive responders
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series and positive titer or signed declination)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) with titers or documentation of vaccines and boosters if needed
  • Varicella with titers or documentation of vaccines and boosters if needed
  • Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) required for all travelers
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Competency & Testing Requirements

• Pass/Fail Testing: Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam and Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for Cath Lab Techs
• Candidates allowed two attempts to pass each exam; a third attempt may be allowed with client approval
• Medication Test requires a minimum passing score of 80% or Angoff score, whichever is higher
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam must be completed within 30 days of start and updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport style, head and shoulders, clear background)
• Completion and signing of facility-specific job description and various exemption forms if applicable
• Two professional references within 3 years of hire required

Summary

This is a travel contract position for a Cath Lab Tech with at least 1 year of hospital Cath Lab experience. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and ARRT-R or RCIS, along with Texas state licensure if applicable. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks with a 5x8 day shift schedule and alternating on-call weeks. Candidates must complete required background checks, health screenings, immunizations, and competency exams prior to or shortly after starting. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
