Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery)
Location: Clinton, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 1900-0730
- High-risk Labor & Delivery experience required
- Skills Required: Circulate, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), preceptor and/or charge nurse experience
- Triage experience preferred
- Float within skillset required (Mom/Baby, postpartum, etc.)
- Call Requirements: 36 hours in 6 weeks or 12 hours per pay period; must be on premises within 45 minutes of call
- Weekend and holiday coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience (high-risk experience required)
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)
Certifications Required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- STABLE certification
- Continuous Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) required at submission (AWHONN certification preferred as a placeholder if C-EFM is not yet completed)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA or ARC)
- Additional preferred certifications: AWHONN
Licensure and Compliance
- Valid Registered Nurse license for Maryland required prior to start
- Background checks including criminal, education verification, and federal/state screenings required
- Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella documentation or titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
Additional Requirements
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Skills checklist and competency exams (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, color blindness) required and must be current
- Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required annually
- Must complete facility-specific modules prior to start
Work Environment
- High-risk Labor and Delivery unit
- Float to related units such as Mom/Baby and postpartum
- Call and weekend/holiday coverage required
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs with high-risk skills who are comfortable with call responsibilities and flexible floating within related units. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
