Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lanham, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Must have 2 years current and strong CT Tech experience
• CT Registered by the ARRT
• Maryland License through the MBP required
• BLS certified
• Work schedule: Every Other Week (EOW)
• Equipment used: Toshiba and PACS
• Work areas: ICU and Emergency Department (ED)

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all units except Pharmacy
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for ICU, NCU, ED, Heart & Vascular, Observation, PCU/Telemetry, and Flex units (not required for Labor & Delivery)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required only for Pediatric, Pediatric ED, and DCMC ED (not required for RT and IR)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby Units
• State License: Primary source verification required
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all units except Cath Lab, OR, Mother Baby Unit, and Labor & Delivery; not required for Techs or RRTs

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Tech (highest requirement noted)
• No explicit prior travel experience required

Background Checks & Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within the past year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit test with N95 mask within past 12 months (on-site fit testing not available)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (or positive titer/doctor’s note if medically exempt)
• Negative TB test (Qgold or Tspot) within past 12 months; chest X-ray if positive TB history
• TB questionnaire completed prior to start and updated annually
• Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) with two vaccines or positive titer; Varicella with two vaccines or positive titer; Hepatitis B series or positive titer or signed declination
• Negative 9-panel drug screen (excluding marijuana) within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (October - March)

Competency & Documentation

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for all RNs
• Color Vision Testing within 12 months of start
• Competency Exam required annually for all units except Social Workers
• References from 2 supervisors or above within 2 years of start required
• Complete employment application/resume and skills checklist (updated annually)

Summary

This travel contract position requires a CT Tech with at least 2 years of experience, current ARRT registration, Maryland licensure, and BLS certification. The role involves working primarily in ICU and ED settings using Toshiba and PACS equipment.
