Description

Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Unit Details

  • Procedures include:
    • Cath Lab
    • Left/Right Heart Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterizations
    • PCI balloon angioplasty procedures (drug eluting and non-drug eluting stents)
    • Pericardiocentesis
    • Aortograms
    • Peripheral Angiograms, Balloon Angioplasty, and Stent placement
    • Cardiomems Placement
    • Temporary Pacemakers
    • IABP/Impella Placement
    • Treatment of Chest Pain, CAD, STEMI, Cardiogenic Shock, and Tamponade

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday with variable days off
  • Weekend work only required with call shifts
  • Call shifts average 10-14 days per month (typically 12), including weekends
  • Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Orientation & Compliance

  • Clinical screening required to determine clinical fit
  • Maximum return-to-office (RTO) time: 7 days
  • Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance results in a 2-week delay due to orientation scheduling
  • Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = approx. 12 hours orientation)

Holiday Work Expectations

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
  • If 2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler expected to work both
  • If 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler expected to work 2 of them
  • Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day

Required Certifications & Verifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs/RRTs/CRTs in critical care and cardiac specialties
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required except for some tech roles
  • Other certifications may be required depending on specialty (PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification)
  • State License: Must be licensed in Georgia (for CRTs & RRTs)
  • Education Verification: Degree verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
  • Tech Cert Verification: National certification verification if applicable
  • CEUs: Required for Mammography techs (proof of 15 CEUs in last 3 years)

Required Health Documents

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
  • TB Questionnaire updated annually
  • Proof of immunizations or titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (cannot start with results pending)
  • Flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season

Competency Exams & Testing

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (for RNs and LVNs)
  • Color Blind Testing (all candidates)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (for Telemetry, ICU, ER, Cardiac step-down, etc.)
  • General competency exam for nursing and allied health

Additional Requirements

  • Background check within 30 days of start, including education verification
  • Skills checklist updated within 12 months
  • Work history verification of most recent employer (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
  • Two clinical references required

Notes

  • Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • Floating within the facility as needed within scope of practice
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
