Job Details

• Specialty: Emergency Center (ER RN)
• Location: Albany, Georgia
• Contract Length: 8 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, ASAP start
• Unit: Emergency Room with Fast Track area for less acute patients
• Patient Volume: Approximately 140 visits per day
• Bed/Trauma Bays: 25 monitored beds, 6 fast treatment beds, 6 fast treatment chairs, 2 trauma bays, recess bay, dedicated stroke room
• Psych/Seclusion Rooms: 4-bed behavioral lockdown area staffed by psych
• Staffing Ratios: 1 nurse to 4 patients
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd to 4th weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred but not required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of ER experience in an Acute Care setting (higher value from description)
• Prior travel experience is preferred but not explicitly required
• Must have prior Meditech 6.15 experience
• Larger hospital or Level 1 Trauma Facility experience highly preferred

Additional Requirements & Notes

• Must be within a 75-mile radius of the facility (driver’s license address required)
• COVID immunization not required; unvaccinated must agree to weekly testing
• ER RNs will take an online Cardiac Rhythms test (minimum 80% passing score)
• ESI Triage Exam during orientation with remediation if needed
• Clinical interview or auto-offer available based on profile/skills review
• Nurses perform their own lab draws and start IVs
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7 dedicated to ER
• Pharmacy available 11 hours in department, 24/7 on campus
• Floor-specific orientation: 1-2 shifts depending on comfort level
• Charge nurse and nurse aides/paramedics present (2-3 per shift)
• Security/patient sitters available for safety
• Central monitoring techs for telemetry/monitors
• ED Physicians/Mid-level providers coverage 24/7 with staggered MD shifts
• Common patient types: Pediatrics to geriatrics, trauma, neuro trauma (some shipped out), ortho (some kept, some shipped), no burns, CVA center

Preferred Skills / Additional Questions

• Experience with ESI triage system or similar
• Experience using Alaris pumps

This position is ideal for experienced ER nurses with strong acute care backgrounds, Meditech EMR proficiency, and a preference for working in a busy, well-staffed Level 1 trauma environment.
