Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Location: Midland, Michigan

Job Description

• Provide nursing care before, during, and after angiography, interventional, angiographic cardiac catheterization procedures, and other diagnostic testing.
• Perform pre-procedure assessments, pre-medication, documentation, post-cath care, and patient education.
• Assist and scrub in for cardiac catheterization and other interventional radiology procedures.
• Conduct cardiac diagnostic nursing procedures including stress echocardiogram, treadmill exams, nuclear and pharmacologic stress testing, tilt table, echocardiograms, cardioversions, and transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Monitor sedation and document according to hospital policy.
• Apply Holter monitors, event monitors, ambulatory blood pressure monitors, and perform pacemaker interrogations.
• Insert PICC lines and serve as a vascular access expert.
• Operate and manage cardiac-related equipment such as cardiac output monitors, hemodynamic monitors, pacemakers/ICDs, intraaortic balloon pumps, crash carts, IV pumps, defibrillators, glucometers, and stress machines.
• Record all pertinent patient and procedure information accurately.
• Develop and enhance cardiovascular education materials and programs.

Required Qualifications

• Cath Lab RN Experience (Required)
• Active Michigan RN License
• Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• Skills checklist current to 1 year, pertinent to Cath Lab specialty
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
• Work history relevant to the specialty

Preferred Qualifications

• Interventional Radiology experience
• 1+ years of Electrophysiology experience
• Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation skills
• Knowledge and operation of intraaortic balloon pump
• Travel work experience
• Epic EMR experience

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates will not be considered).
• All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission; no scheduling changes will be approved after an offer is made.
• Dress code: Navy Blue Scrubs
• EMR system used: Epic

Experience Requirements Summary

• Specialty Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in Electrophysiology preferred; Cath Lab RN experience required (implies at least 1 year relevant experience).
• Prior Travel Experience: Preferred but not required.

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs with strong cardiac procedural skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced interventional environment.
