Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry I (LTA)

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Unit: Observation Unit (16 beds)
• Shift: ED RN Nights & Every Other Weekend (EOW), 36 hours per week
• Patient Population: Adult
• Clinician to Patient Ratio: 4:1 or 5:1 depending on unit needs
• Floating: Required
• Rotating Shifts: Required
• EMR Systems: Epic, Asap, Clin Doc

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in ED nursing or telemetry nursing
• Must be able to read telemetry strips
• General ED nursing skills including:

  • Patient assessment and documentation
  • IV therapy and phlebotomy
  • EKG and cardiac monitoring
  • Point of care testing
  • Splinting
  • Critical thinking
  • Patient education

Certifications & Licenses Required

• Active Massachusetts RN License (no conditional licenses accepted)
• ACLS (American Heart Association preferred)
• PALS (American Heart Association preferred)
• BLS (American Heart Association only accepted at this facility)

Additional Requirements

• Fit Test: N95 respirator fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually
• MGB Medication Exam: 80% passing within 365 days
• MGB Dysrhythmia Exam: 80% passing
• MGB Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam: 80% passing
• MMR: Documentation of immunity or vaccination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions allowed
• TB Test: Documentation of negative TB skin test or blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break
• Health Statement: Physician statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
• Criminal Background Checks: Including Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, National Sex Offender Check, and Exclusion Checks within 45 days prior to start date and updated if >6 month break
• References: Two recent references required, at least one supervisor or above
• Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Skills Checklist: Required for submission
• Candidate Submission Coversheet: Required for submission
• Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form: Required upon acceptance and for extensions

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Floating and rotating shifts are mandatory.
• This is a Long-Term Assignment (LTA).

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry or ED RNs who are comfortable with telemetry monitoring and working in a fast-paced observation unit setting.
