Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

  • 10-hour shifts between 6 AM - 7 PM
  • Weekends as needed
  • May require staying until last patient is cared for
  • Call may be required (no call on holidays)

• Unit Info:

  • Invasive Cardiology unit with 4 Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology labs
  • 23 prep/recovery bays
  • Performs over 6,000 procedures annually including:

    • Complex coronary procedures
    • Ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO
    • Structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping)
    • Complex atrial and ventricular ablations
    • Pacemaker/ICD implant & explant
    • Cardioversion
    • Pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation
    • Peripheral intervention and pulmonary embolectomy

  • May care for COVID-19 patients

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Skills: EPIC experience required
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Compliance & Documentation

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start, must be finalized prior to start (cannot start with results pending)
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 5 years of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days

• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Immunizations and titers required:

    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days (PPD not accepted)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Vaccines (2 doses) or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

• Certifications & Competencies:

  • State license verification (primary source online)
  • NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health

• Facility Specific Documents:

  • Passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, solid background)
  • Signed agreements including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, Non-Employee Affidavit
  • I9 and documentation attestations completed by agency
  • Completion of WellSpan LMS modules and new hire orientation required

• History & References:

  • 2 professional references within 3 years
  • Most recent resume/application required
  • Annual skills checklist required
  • Performance evaluations completed onsite during assignment

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract opportunity in invasive cardiology requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and EPIC experience. The role involves working 10-hour shifts with possible weekend and call duties. The unit performs advanced cardiac procedures in a tobacco and fragrance-free environment. Comprehensive background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific documentation are required prior to and during the assignment.
