Description

Job Opportunity: RN - Rehab (Travel)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

Role: Registered Nurse (RN) in Rehabilitation
Shift: 12-hour shifts
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend (for travel)
Call Requirements: None
Dress Code: Scrubs (any color) and sneakers

Facility & Unit Information

Unit Type: Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation
Number of Beds: 49
Patient Ratio: 1:7
Patient Population: Adults requiring inpatient rehab for conditions such as stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other rehab needs
Equipment: EPIC electronic health record system

Required Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg or Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) nursing
Minimum 13 weeks of EPIC experience
Must have at least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience
Required Certifications: BLS
Acute inpatient rehab or acute rehab hospital experience required
Skilled nursing experience alone is not accepted unless accompanied by 2 years of IRF or Med Surg experience

Skills & Common Patient Diagnoses/Treatments

Experience with hypertension, blood glucose monitoring, insulin protocols
Feeding tube care, swallowing precautions, thickened liquids
Foley catheter care, care of ports, PICC lines, starting IVs
Care for patients with CVA (stroke), Parkinson’s disease, post craniotomy, spinal injury, brain injury, joint replacement
Supplemental oxygen delivery, isolation precautions, ulcer and wound care

Preferred Experience

Trauma experience is a plus

Orientation dates available throughout the year
Local candidates will not be accepted for this travel position

This role is ideal for experienced travel RNs with a strong background in inpatient rehab nursing and EPIC system proficiency, looking to work in a specialized rehab hospital setting.
