Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Germantown, Maryland

Job Details

• Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7:30 PM to 8:00 AM
• Work Setting: Stand-alone emergency department (no fluoroscopy, no OR)
• Daily Caseload: 80-90 patients per 24 hours
• Procedures: Both CT and X-ray to be performed
• Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
• Block Schedule: Open to accommodating Fri-Sun block schedule
• Locals Accepted: Yes (within same Baltimore region)
• Pending State License Accepted: Yes
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• On-call: Not required

Requirements

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (CT Tech / X-ray)
• Years of Experience Required: 1 year
• First-time Travelers: Accepted
• Certifications:

  • ARRT (CT) (R)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, valid certification required (no expiring within 30 days)
  • MD License required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Compliance & Documentation

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Fingerprinting: Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI fingerprint results required for behavioral health units; must be completed in Maryland with results prior to start
• Licenses & Verifications:

  • State License copy and primary source verification required
  • NURSYS verification for RNs as applicable
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
  • Fit mask test within 12 months, no religious or medical exemptions accepted without facility approval
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (must include Pertussis)
  • Negative TB test (QuantiFERON-TB Gold or TSPOT within 90 days) or 2-step TST; chest x-ray if history of positive TB
  • Immunizations or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
  • Hepatitis B positive quantitative titer within 5 years (series and titers required if low titer)
  • 11-panel drug screen including cotinine/nicotine and marijuana within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required (no declinations without facility approval)
  • Eye exam (visual acuity) within 6 months, repeated annually
  • Color blind exam within 5 years
  • COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declinations require facility approval
• Other Certifications (as applicable):

  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI/MAB, NIH Stroke Certification, STABLE (for NICU/L&D)
  • ARRT certification required for Radiology/CT Techs
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology and other competency exams as applicable
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Radiation Badge: Provided by facility for new radiology candidates

Facility Specific Notes

• Smoke/nicotine free campus; no nicotine/cotinine allowed
• Behavioral health fingerprinting and CPS background checks required for behavioral health units
• Fit test medical and religious exemptions require facility-approved forms and may lead to PAPR training if approved
• Fingerprinting appointments must be scheduled at least 5 business days prior to start date; results required before starting
• Facility requires completion of a tobacco-free workplace acknowledgment form before contract start

This position is suitable for CT Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, who hold ARRT (CT) certification, BLS, and a valid Maryland medical license. The role involves weekend night shifts in a busy emergency department setting with a high patient volume. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
