Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Cardiac Specialty)

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry
• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Number of Openings: 2
• Shift: Primarily Day/Evening (P/A)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: May occasionally float to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical units

Unit Information

• Department: Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Patient Population: Generalized cardiac patients, ages ranging from young adult to elderly adult
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments:

  • Chest Pain
  • Atrial Fibrillation (A-fib)
  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Pre & Post care for cardiac catheterizations (groin & radial)
  • Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS)

Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License (RN)
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • NIH Certification
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in cardiac specialty nursing (highest required years of experience)
• Skills:

  • Proficient with Life Pak, Zoll, Masimo equipment
  • Preferred experience with Cerner electronic health records (EHR) system
