Experience Requirements

• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update required)
• Tech Cert Verification - National (within 30 days of start)
• State License Verification (within 30 days of start)
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) within 30 days of start
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for Telemetry nurses

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start; update annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Education verification (highest level) required; transcript or diploma acceptable.
• State-specific checks for Texas (Employability Status Check and Employee Misconduct Registry) required within 30 days of start.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract).
• Fit test (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S mask) required and updated annually.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year; must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract).
• TB questionnaire required annually.
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or exemption required for 2025-26 season.
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; no pending results allowed. Facility conducts additional drug screen on arrival.

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within 3 years of start.
• Resume or employment application required.
• Skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
• Completion and signing of multiple facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start (e.g., vaccination info, TB and occupational exposure, patient-centered pledge, confidentiality, background check authorization, traveler ID form, employee handbook review).
