Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, Friday through Sunday, 8 AM to 8 PM (actual shift time may vary between 7 AM - 9 AM based on unit needs)
- On Call: No call required
- Holiday: Must be available to work one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational with staff)
- Travel Experience: First-time travelers NOT accepted
- Locals: Not accepted (radius rule applies)
- Floating: May be required to float to a nearby facility approximately half a mile away
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT(R) certification required
- ARRT (CT) preferred
Required Clinical Skills
- Preparation and/or administration of contrast media
- Radiation safety knowledge
- Experience with Siemens equipment and Epic software required
Licensure
- Active state license required (Virginia state license preferred)
- Emergency authorization available for Virginia license processing
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years typical for CT Tech roles unless otherwise specified
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-time travelers not accepted)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- I-9 or attestation
- Driver’s License/State ID with address verification (must be more than 100 miles from facility)
- E-Verify or attestation
- Background check (7 years, including all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
- Education verification of highest earned degree
- Physical exam within 1 year, free from communicable diseases
- Fit test within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start
- Immunizations or positive titers for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Flu vaccination or declination form during flu season
- 2 clinical references required
- Complete employment application/resume
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Radiation badge supplied by client (not provided by agency)
Additional Notes
- Must comply with facility-specific orientation and compliance checklists
- Candidate must review and acknowledge safety and orientation manuals prior to start
- No call off more than 1 shift per 2 weeks allowed
This position is ideal for experienced CT Technologists with prior travel contract experience who are licensed and certified, and who can commit to weekend shifts and holiday coverage in a Level I Trauma Center environment.
