Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- Department: Emergency Department (ED)
- Unit Size: 101 beds
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 medical; up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
- Staffing: Techs available; work includes cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks (days and nights)
- Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; no block scheduling; schedule must meet department needs
- Floating Policy: No floating outside ED; must float within all ED sections
- Patient Experience: AIDET communication, respectful behavior, ongoing patient updates throughout visit

Required Qualifications
- Licenses: Registered Nurse License (RN)
- Certifications (must have before start date):
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- CPI
- NIHSS
- ENPC (within 90 days of hire)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience in a Level II trauma center or comprehensive stroke center
- At least 1 year experience in an Emergency Room setting
- Previous experience with HCA Healthcare preferred
- Skills:
- Teamwork mentality
- Ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
