Job Opportunity: Rad Tech - Interventional Radiology
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Interventional Radiology
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 3-4 Techs, 3-4 RNs, 1 Scheduler/Coordinator
- Night Shift: Call
- Patient Ratios: Vary depending on IR procedure
- Equipment: Discovery 740 IGS
- EMR System: Meditech
Required Skills and Experience
- Specialty: Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech)
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years in specialty
- Required Certifications:
- ARRT Certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Must Have Skills:
- Critical Care Experience
- Procedural Area Experience
- Moderate Sedation
- Preferred Skills:
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Experience with Meditech EMR
Typical Procedures
- Biopsies / Drain Insertion
- Angiograms / Peripheral Vascular Procedures
- Paracenteses / Thoracentesis
- Assisting with CT Coronary, MRI Monitoring, Myelograms
- Line Placement
Work Environment and Expectations
- Personality Fit: Outgoing, self-starter, team-oriented, positive attitude
- Floating: Unlikely, but may assist in CT, MRI, Radiology
- Dress Code: Scrubs provided
- Call Requirements:
- 1-2 nights of call per week
- 1 weekend of call every 4-5 weekends
Notes
- This is a tech position, not an RN role.
- RNs are not required to scrub cases.
- No indication that prior travel experience is required for this role.
