Job Opportunity: Inpatient Wound RN (40 hrs Days)

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: RN Wound Care
• Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Unit: Inpatient Wound Care
• Patient Population: Significant wounds in a 400-bed community hospital
• Clinician to Patient Ratio: 2 to 3 Wound RNs per day
• EMR System: EPIC
• Floating: Not required
• Rotating Shifts: Not required

Experience & Education Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of direct wound care experience
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
• Certifications:

  • W.O.C.N. (Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse) or equivalent preferred
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Required Skills

• Wound staging
• VAC dressing changes
• Completion of wound consults
• Management of new ostomies

Credentialing & Compliance Requirements

• Valid nursing license with primary source verification (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)
• AHA BLS certification (only AHA accepted for this facility)
• N95 fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no religious exemptions)
• Passing scores on medication and dysrhythmia exams (80% minimum)
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Influenza vaccine (required during flu season, no exemptions)
  • TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days
• Background checks including:

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start
  • Massachusetts CORI check
  • National sex offender registry check
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, Medicaid lists)
• Documentation of work experience and education for the past 7 years
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation
• References: 2 recent, including at least 1 supervisor or above in skillset

Additional Notes

• No prior travel experience explicitly required
• No floating or rotating shifts required
• Strong preference for candidates with W.O.C.N. certification or equivalent
• Facility uses EPIC for charting and documentation
