Job Opportunity: Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatrics (Days)

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatrics
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 3 patients
• Unit Size: Very small unit with a maximum census of 3 patients
• Shift: Days
• Call-Outs: Not allowed; call-outs may close the unit and impact patient care
• Time Off:

  • Requested time off must be noted and verified at application
  • No more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) will be approved (less is better)
  • Only one holiday off will be approved
• Local Travelers: Not considered if residing within 50 miles of the facility
• Backup Support: Family Birthplace staff, respiratory and IV therapists available; security badge with panic button provided

Experience & Qualifications

• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 3 years of current Pediatric nursing experience
• Preferred Experience: Adult Medical-Surgical experience (for float coverage)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Massachusetts RN License (must be uploaded with profile)
  • American Heart Association BLS (current)
  • American Heart Association ACLS (current)
  • American Heart Association PALS (current)
• Skills Checklists Required:

  • Pediatric nursing skills checklist (current within 1 year)
  • Medical-Surgical skills checklist (current within 1 year)
• Education: BSN preferred
• Other Requirements:

  • Must have own vehicle
  • Permanent address must be included in profile
  • Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred

Additional Information

• Block scheduling will not be considered
• Non-billable orientation required: 8 hours
• Overtime and holiday multipliers apply
• This is a community hospital, not a pediatric intensive care unit
• Emphasis on family involvement and child-friendly environment (rooming-in, playroom, games, videos)
