Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) (Days)

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a Level I Trauma Center.
  • Work with critically injured patients and specialty services including heart, cancer care, advanced neuroscience, and multi-organ transplant programs.
  • Must be ready to start on or very soon after the order start date.
  • Return to Office (RTO) requests must be less than 7 days and cannot be approved during the first week of assignment or holidays.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 24 months of current Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience.
  • Licenses:
    • Active Arizona or Compact RN license required.
    • No license issues on Nursys at time of submission.
  • Certifications:
    • American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
    • American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support).
    • Flu vaccination required (declinations accepted with proper forms).
  • Other:
    • Must have a valid driver's license (non-Arizona licenses only; candidates with an Arizona driver's license will NOT be considered).
    • Background checks and compliance requirements must be met and attested to.
    • Learning modules must be completed prior to assignment start.
    • Skills checklist specific to PCU discipline required.
    • Resume must include all facilities, facility size, beds, trauma level, and units worked.
  • Prior Travel Experience: Preferred but not required.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must submit a fully completed cover page with all requested information including shifts, departments, and locations they are willing to work.
  • Assignments may be canceled with 7 days written notice without penalty.
  • Non-billable hours adjusted to 16 hours per assignment.
  • Payment and technology fees apply (not detailed here).

This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly specialized, fast-paced environment caring for critically ill patients in a top-level trauma center.
