Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel Position
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
Facility & Unit Information
- Inpatient Rehab Unit with 32 beds
- Staff includes approximately 35 therapists and 50 nurses
- Day Shift Staff: 8 OTs, 8 PTs, 1 Rehab Aide, 7 Nurses, 3 PCTs, 1 UC
- Night Shift: Not applicable
- Patient Treatment Time: Expect 5 to 6 hours of treatment per day
- Equipment Used: H200/L300, BURT
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Typical Procedures:
- Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Patient evaluations
- Usual inpatient rehab treatments
Required Qualifications
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- OTR Certification (Occupational Therapist Registered)
- Licenses:
- Valid Occupational Therapist License
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in occupational therapy specialty (inpatient rehab preferred)
- Skills:
- Basic knowledge of inpatient rehab (mandatory)
- Ability to flex and work as part of a team (mandatory)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in inpatient rehab
- Willingness to work a minimum of 2 weekends per 4-week period
Work Environment & Culture
- Personality Fit: Outgoing, flexible, knowledgeable
- Dress Code: Black pants and olive scrub top
- Floating: May be assigned to other Methodist inpatient rehab units
Additional Notes
- Weekend work is required (minimum 2 weekends per 4 weeks)
- No night shifts on this unit
- Team-oriented environment with a focus on inpatient rehabilitation
This position is ideal for occupational therapists with at least 1 year of inpatient rehab experience who are flexible, team players, and open to weekend shifts.
