Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Labor and Delivery
Number of Beds: 16
Number of Staff: 120
Shifts:
- Day Shift: Charge nurse, PCT, CST, RN
- Night Shift: Charge nurse, PCT, CST, RN
Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2
Equipment Used: Baxter Pumps, Phillips electronic fetal monitoring
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner, Fetal Ink

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum 2+ years of Labor & Delivery experience (highest required years of experience)
Experience with high-risk pregnancies
Experience in immediate newborn care

Preferred Skills

Circulating experience

Typical Procedures Performed

Vaginal Deliveries
Cesarean Sections
Dilation & Curettage (D&C)
Cerclage
C-Hysterectomy

Certifications Required

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Life Support (ALS)
Advanced Fetal Monitoring
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)

Licensure

Registered Nurse License

Additional Information

Floating Areas: Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit (MFMU), Mother-Baby (MOMB), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Dress Code: Scrubs provided
Weekends and On-call: Not required but available upon approval
