Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 1830-0700 (overnight)
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts every 6 weeks


Job Summary

  • Position for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Adult critical care and Emergency Department (ED) experience required
  • Open to 8-week or 13-week contracts
  • Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a lower rate
  • First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

  • License: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license required
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC certified
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) recommended
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, specifically in adult critical care and ED settings
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Work Requirements

  • Must be able to work overnight shifts (1830-0700)
  • Must work 4 weekend shifts every 6 weeks

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Immunizations and health documentation including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer documentation
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • Valid state driver's license if driving is an essential job function
  • Completion of facility-specific modules and orientation prior to start
  • References: Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Employment history verification covering 7 years with no gaps

Additional Notes

  • Medication, pharmacology, and competency exams required within 3 years of start date, with minimum passing scores
  • EKG competency exam may be required depending on unit assignment
  • Annual safety manual acknowledgment required
  • N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)

This position is ideal for RRTs with solid adult critical care and ED experience looking for a travel contract opportunity with flexible contract lengths and overnight shifts. First-time travelers are welcome.
