Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Travel)

Location: Kingwood, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit Size: 36 beds
• Staff: 41.4 hired staff
• Shift Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 7 nurses, 3 PCTs, 1 US
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 6 nurses, 3 PCTs
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Equipment: Computer on wheels, EKG machines, defibrillators, telemetry monitors, tube feeding pumps, suction regulators, vital sign machines, walkers, crutches
• EMR System: Medi-tech

Required Skills

• Patient assessment

Preferred Skills

• Medical/Surgical experience
• Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) experience

Typical Procedures

• IV starts
• Foley catheter insertion
• NG tube insertion
• Staple removal
• Continuous bladder irrigation
• Medication administration
• Vital sign monitoring
• Wound care and dressing changes
• Pre and post-operative care

Work Environment & Culture

• Unit huddles at 6:45 AM and 6:45 PM
• Multidisciplinary rounds at 10:00 AM
• Floating to Medical/Surgical overflow as needed
• Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs
• Weekend schedule: Every other weekend as scheduled

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Nurse (RN) License (Texas)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Certification

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in the specialty (Telemetry)
