Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVICU) - Travel/Contract
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Details
- Float required
- Schedule includes 2 weekends per month or every other weekend
- No time off allowed during specified holidays (e.g., Valentine's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day)
- Patient ratios: 1:1 in CVICU; 1:2-3 in ICU
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted; actual certification required (no screenshots/photos); must not expire within 45 days of assignment start
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted; actual certification required; must not expire within 45 days of assignment start
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification) - required for all RN candidates; actual certification required; must not expire within 45 days of assignment start
Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, OCN, TNCC, EFM, CPI). Confirm with program management if unit description is unclear.
Required Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing (Ishihara test or online test within 12 months)
- Competency Exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher; not required for L&D, Psych, LTC, Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum, Transitional Care)
- Core Competency Exams Part I, II, and III (minimum 80% pass rate; updated annually)
Required Licenses and Verifications
- Valid Tennessee RN license (must be current and not expire within 45 days of assignment start)
- NURSYS Verification within 30 days of start
- State License Verification within 30 days of start
Health and Background Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, signed by MD, DO, NP, APRN, or PA (Chiropractor not accepted)
- Negative TB test (QGold or Skin Test) within 1 year; T-spots not accepted; if past positive, clear chest x-ray within 10 years plus questionnaire required
- TB Questionnaire
- Immunizations/vaccinations or titers for:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series, titer, or declination)
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Drug testing within 45 days of start (includes panel for multiple substances; MRO signature required)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination required for starts on or after 9/8/2025 (no declinations accepted; exemptions only for medical or religious reasons with agency approval)
- Photo for badge (passport style, solid background, no filters or facial piercings)
