Job Opportunity: Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatrics (Nights)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
Patient types include Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Med Surg, and all Pediatric specialties
May float across NICU, general pediatric floor, and PICU
Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:4
Bed size: 14
Must be willing to float to Emergency Department to care for inpatient holds
EMR system: EPIC

Required Qualifications

Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
Minimum 24 months of combined Pediatric and/or Oncology nursing experience
Pediatric experience within the previous 18 months (required)
Hematology/Oncology experience (required)
EPIC electronic medical record experience within the previous 12 months (required)
Must have completed at least 1 prior travel nursing contract within the previous 18 months (prior travel experience required)
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
Membership or certification from APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses) (required)
Skills checklist specific to Pediatric/Oncology discipline (required)
Valid driver’s license (required)

Orientation dates available
Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred
Night shift position

This position is ideal for experienced pediatric oncology nurses with recent travel experience and EPIC EMR proficiency.
