Description

Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Multimodality Tech - X-Ray & CT)

Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: 4x10s, Tuesday-Friday, 9 PM - 7:30 AM
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes (per shift schedule)
  • On-call Requirement: No
  • Floating: No floating between units or sister facilities required
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARRT certification
  • SCRQSA certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certification only
  • Experience with Epic system

Facility & Work Environment

  • Type of Facility: Acute Care Hospital
  • Charting Systems: Epic, Sectra for PACS
  • Parking: Free with pass distributed at start date
  • Scrub Color: Black and/or Teal
  • Hurricane Season: Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November), with peak activity in August and September. Travelers should consider this before accepting assignments during this period.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
  • Must include: SSN Trace, County checks outside SC, SC Statewide, Sex Offender Registry, National Criminal, OFAC, FACIS 3, Employment and Education Verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals

Licensure

  • South Carolina RRT license required for Respiratory Therapists (not applicable here)
  • For CT Tech: ARRT certification and state licensure as applicable
  • Primary source verification of active, unencumbered license required
  • Licensure verification must be started within 48 hours of signing

Certifications

  • BLS (AHA only) required for all clinical staff
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke, and other certifications as applicable to specific units (not specifically required for this role)
  • Certifications must not be expiring within 30 days of start date

Health Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands without restrictions
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
  • Annual TB questionnaire required
  • Drug screen: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • COVID vaccines not required but highly preferred; vaccination records or declination form must be uploaded

Other Requirements

  • Radiation badge must be obtained prior to starting patient care duties; process may take 5-7 days
  • Photo for badge: passport-style, frontal view, solid light background
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
  • References: Minimum 2 clinical references, including at least one from the unit to be worked in
  • Employment history verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified; no gaps unaccounted for in resume/application
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable

Additional Notes

  • Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Travelers must be prepared for possible emergency response duties during hurricane season
  • All verification and credentialing items must be initiated promptly after contract signing to avoid delays

This position is ideal for CT Technologists with at least 1 year of CT experience, ARRT certification, and Epic system experience, seeking a 13-week travel assignment in an acute care hospital setting with a night shift schedule.
