Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Levelland, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Position floats between units: No
  • On-call required: Yes (midnight to 7am for CT and X-ray)
  • Weekend shifts: Occasionally required (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 3:30 PM - midnight) and on-call Saturday and Sunday
  • Block schedules: Yes
  • Patient ratio: 3-20 patients per shift
  • Shift priority: Monday-Friday 3:30 PM - midnight with one on-call night per week (midnight to 7 AM)
  • May occasionally cover weekend shifts if weekend tech is unavailable

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist
  • CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience as an X-Ray Technician

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

  • Comprehensive background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Includes SSN trace, death master index, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, education verification, motor vehicle record (if applicable), and international background check if applicable
  • Background must be updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly

Health Documents

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required annually for travel candidates
  • Immunizations and screenings:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant tests not accepted)

Competencies & Skills

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color blindness testing if required by unit
  • Specialty-specific competency exams may be required

References & Employment History

  • Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors) with month/year format for dates
  • Skills checklists required annually for applicable units

Scheduling & Work Expectations

  • Main shift: Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM to midnight
  • One on-call night per week (midnight to 7 AM)
  • Occasional weekend shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 3:30 PM - midnight) and on-call Saturday/Sunday
  • No floating between units

Additional Notes

  • Must comply with Providence Health and Services policies including floating policy acknowledgment
  • Required to complete facility and specialty-specific WorkRamp training modules annually
  • Badge photo required for identification
  • Epic access training may be required depending on assignment location
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
  • Oregon and Washington state-specific background and registry checks apply if applicable

This position offers an opportunity to work in a Level IV Trauma Center with a focused CT/X-ray tech role, requiring strong clinical skills, certifications, and compliance with comprehensive health and background requirements.
