Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D) - Travel Position

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Work Environment

• Department: Emergency Department (ED)
• Unit Size: 101 beds
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
• Staffing: Techs available; work includes cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks (days and nights)
• Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required; no block scheduling; schedule must meet department needs
• Floating Policy: No floating outside ED; must float within all ED sections
• Patient Experience: Emphasis on AIDET communication, respectful behavior, and keeping patients informed throughout their visit
• Work Culture: Known for teamwork and welcoming personalities; serves a multicultural community with over 120 languages spoken locally

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department (ED), including experience within the last year
• Certifications (must have before start date):

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
