Job Opportunity: Bone Marrow Transplant RN
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work on a 30-bed inpatient unit caring for patients with malignant hematologic disorders.
- Responsibilities include care related to stem cell transplant and CAR-T infusions.
- The unit also participates in various research protocols.
- Schedule includes day/night rotations every 2 weeks; straight night shifts can be accommodated.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT).
- Required to hold an ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider card.
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certification
- Valid, permanent Registered Nurse (RN) license (no temporary licenses accepted).
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification from ONCC is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider card.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Bone Marrow Transplant nursing experience.
Health & Safety Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required.
- Positive MMR titers within the last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol.
- Positive Varicella titers within the last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol.
- Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Annual influenza vaccine required during flu season (October–March) or completion of specific masking and declination forms.
- Fit test for N95 respirators completed within 1 year.
- 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test within the last 6 months; if positive, clear chest x-ray and current TB questionnaire required.
- Physical exam within one year prior to start, confirming ability to work without restrictions.
- Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required).
Background & Verification
- Professional license and certification primary source verification within 30 days of start.
- Employment verification for the last 5 years.
- Education verification (including equivalency for international education).
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including social security trace and national sex offender search.
- Ohio fingerprinting and FBI background checks as applicable.
- OIG exclusion check and federal sanctions screening within 6 months.
- Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance.
- Submission of a professional resume, 2 professional references (within last 2 years), and completed job application.
Additional Requirements
- Non-expired photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Badge photo (headshot with plain background).
- Skills checklist and competency exams specific to the department, completed within 1 year prior to start.
- Core competencies including HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission topics completed within 1 year prior to start.
Schedule
- Rotating day and night shifts every 2 weeks.
- Option for straight night shifts available.
