Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry I (Travel Assignment)

Job Description

• Position: Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN, Nights & Every Other Weekend (EOW), 36 hours per week
• Unit: 24-Bed Medical Cardiology Unit
• Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read telemetry strips and perform cardiac drips
  • Post Cath Care including PCI, ICD, PPM, Ablation, TR Band, Femoral approach
• Nurse to Patient Ratio:

  • Days: 1:5
  • Nights: 1:6

Required Qualifications

• License: Active Massachusetts RN License
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years with a strong cardiac background
• Certifications:

  • AHA BLS (American Heart Association Basic Life Support) – Salem accepts ONLY AHA
  • ACLS (American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – preferred but optional
• Skills:

  • Telemetry and Cardiology experience
  • Ability to interpret telemetry strips and perform cardiac drips

Additional Requirements

• Health and Safety:

  • N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no onsite fit testing)
  • Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 15) with no exemptions
  • TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
• Background Checks and Verifications:

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if >6 month break
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date
  • Social Security Number trace and education verification required
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start date
• Testing and Documentation:

  • MGB Medication Exam (80% passing)
  • MGB Dysrhythmia Exam (80% passing)
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (if fit test required)
  • MGB Skills Checklist (must be completed within 1 year of submission)
  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city & state
  • Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or above
  • Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form upon acceptance and for extensions

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Contract length is interpreted as 13 weeks.
• The specialty requires at least 2 years of experience in telemetry nursing with a strong cardiac background.
