Job Opportunity: CT Technologist
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Work schedule: Monday-Friday, four 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM)
- Operate CT scanners following physician orders to produce detailed diagnostic and interventional scans
- Perform patient care tasks including assisting patients onto the scanner, verifying identification, and entering patient information
- Ensure proper archiving and transmission of imaging files to PACS and RIS systems
- Maintain department facilities and stay updated on outpatient procedures and policies
- Competent in all routine outpatient CT exams
- Adjust scanner and injector settings for exams, ensuring patient safety and image quality
- Confirm correct patient and exam through patient interview and medical record review
- Explain exams to patients considering physical, emotional, and language needs to ensure compliance
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Massachusetts
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience in an outpatient setting
- Competent in all routine outpatient CT exams
Certifications and Compliance Requirements
- BLS certification (AHA preferred)
- Primary source verification of professional license within 30 days of start date
- N95 fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no onsite fit testing)
- Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 15), no exemptions allowed
- TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
- Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
- Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry
- Verification of highest level of education achieved
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit test required
- Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred
- Tdap vaccine preferred within last 10 years
- Submission of references, skills checklist, resume, and other professional documentation as required
Additional Notes
- Must adhere to all departmental and hospital policies
- No religious or medical exemptions allowed for vaccine and fit test requirements
- Documentation and credential verification must be maintained and updated as specified
