Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) (Nights)

Location

Lawton, Oklahoma

Employment Type

Temporary (13-week assignment)

Unit Description

Open ICU covering Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, CVICU, and Neuro ICU
May care for pediatric patients if helicopter transport is unavailable
Two sections: 14-bed unit and 12-bed unit
Patient placement based on bed availability, not reason for admittance

Staffing Ratios

ICU: 1 nurse to 2 patients, occasionally 1:3
May float to CVCU (1:4 staffing) or Emergency Department for hold patients with similar ratios during low census

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Oklahoma
Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience within the last year
Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience working with pediatric patients

Additional Information

Orientation for nursing travelers starts on Thursdays
Scrub color: Navy Blue
No increased rate for overtime, holiday, or call-back hours
On-call pay: $2 per hour with 1-hour minimum
Local applicants within 50 miles considered at a reduced travel rate
Non-compete: Former direct employees not eligible to return through agency until 6 months after direct employment ends
