CT Technologist - Owosso, MI (Permanent)

Job Summary

The CT Technologist performs specialized technical duties involving the setup and operation of computed tomography equipment to acquire diagnostic cross-sectional images. This role includes providing CT service coverage after normal business hours, weekends, and holidays. The technologist works with a variety of patients including scheduled exams, inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality radiographic images through proper positioning and technical factors.
• Operate CT scanner, power injector, and post-processing equipment.
• Adjust imaging protocols to meet patient needs.
• Critique completed procedures to ensure high diagnostic quality.
• Perform general radiography exams as needed.
• Maintain repeat rate at or below the national standard.
• Communicate delays and explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort.
• Obtain thorough patient history and prepare patients for examinations.
• Assist radiologists during invasive procedures such as biopsies and abscess drainages.
• Position patients accurately based on anatomy and provide clear explanations.
• Practice positive patient identification.
• Collaborate with radiologists regarding patient care and imaging protocols.
• Stay current with new procedures and research in diagnostic imaging.

Required Qualifications

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT).
• Two-year allied health degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of current, full-time experience in both CT and general x-ray within a hospital or emergency department setting.
