Job Opportunity: CT Technologist

Location: Bismarck, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Perform diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scans, producing quality exam images while exercising professional judgment. Provide patient care and initiate life support measures as necessary. Interact effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and healthcare staff. Operate CT equipment and perform related procedures and protocols. Ability to learn and utilize new technology. Work with patients of all age groups and develop an understanding of their physical and emotional status. May include on-call rotation, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

This position supports a Level 2 Trauma Center and Stroke Center, imaging hospital and clinic patients with required post-processing of images.


Equipment Used

  • CT Scanners: Toshiba Aquilion One, Siemens Definition Edge
  • Workstations: Vital Fx, Tera Recon, SyngoVia
  • EMR System: EPIC/Radiant
  • PACS: McKesson

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
  • ARRT Board Certification in CT
  • Current CPR certification (BLS)
  • Licensed in North Dakota by the Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board
  • Knowledge of CT scanners, cross-sectional anatomy and physiology, and 3D post-processing for orthopedic, vascular, cardiac, and neuro imaging
  • Experience preferred

Schedule and Work Conditions

  • Monday-Friday with varying day and evening shifts
  • 12-hour weekend shifts as assigned
  • Weekend call as needed, occasional call coverage
  • No floating to other units/departments
  • Must badge in and out at the facility
  • Scrubs color: Gray
  • Local travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles are not accepted

Orientation and Training

  • 2-week orientation process
  • Schedule details discussed during interview
  • Includes working 3 twelve-hour weekend shifts and call/holiday coverage

Additional Notes

  • Must disclose if previously worked at this facility; if so, last end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission
  • Works in a trauma and stroke center environment with a 200-bed capacity
