Job Details

• Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU 4N)
• Location: Savannah, Georgia
• Contract Length: 14 weeks
• Unit Details:

  • 12 beds
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 depending on acuity
  • Unit combines Med-Surg and Stepdown patients
  • Common patient diagnoses: Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, heart failure, etc.
  • Telemetry experience required
  • RNs titrate set rate drips (no phlebotomy; RNs pull their own labs)
  • Charge nurse takes an assignment
  • Nurse aides present with a 12:1 ratio
  • Respiratory therapy equipment includes nasal cannula, face masks, BiPAP
  • No Tele/Monitor Techs on unit; monitored remotely
  • RNs do not read their own strips
  • Tele monitors brand: Space Lab
  • Scheduling allows self-scheduling and block scheduling
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend
  • Holiday requirement: yes
  • No call or standby requirement
  • No floating requirement
  • Dress code: Navy scrubs
  • Orientation: One day computer skills with knowledge assessment, plus two shifts with preceptor; 12-hour night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS certification
• Telemetry experience

• Strict 100-mile radius rule; local candidates will not be considered
• Candidates must pass clinical resume review for consideration
• Start dates: one candidate needed by April 6; two candidates needed by April 20
