Location: Oro Valley, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse is responsible for providing care to post-anesthesia patients. This role involves working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical staff, and other healthcare personnel. The nurse will utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and relevant policies and procedures. Critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership are essential for anticipating and planning safe patient care. The nurse will maintain clinical competencies through continuing education, delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience, and provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel.
Shift Details:
- 3 shifts of 12 hours each (05:45 - 18:00 and 07:45 - 20:30)
- On-call requirements include one 12-hour call shift (18:00 - 06:30) and two 24-hour call shifts on weekends (06:00 - 06:00) every six weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
