Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU 4N)

Location: Savannah, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Unit Details

• Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Med-Surg and Stepdown combo
• Unit Size: 12 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4-5 depending on acuity
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Med-Surg cases, Sickle Cell, Heart Failure, etc.
• Telemetry skills required
• RNs titrate set rate drips (no phlebotomy; RNs draw their own labs)
• Charge Nurse takes assignment
• Nurse Aides present with a 12:1 ratio
• Respiratory Therapy equipment includes nasal cannula, face masks, BiPAP
• Tele/Monitor Techs not present on unit; monitoring done remotely
• RNs do not read their own telemetry strips
• Tele monitors brand: Space Lab

Scheduling & Work Environment

• Self-scheduling allowed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Yes
• No call or standby requirement
• No floating required
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs
• Orientation: One day computer skills with knowledge assessment, plus two shifts with preceptor (12-hour day shifts)

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license (RN)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU or similar hospital setting with comparable size and acuity
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Prior travel experience required: Successful completion of at least 1 travel contract
• Experience with telemetry and PCU nursing skills
• Must pass clinical resume review for consideration

This position is ideal for experienced PCU nurses who have prior travel contract experience and are comfortable working in a progressive care environment with a diverse patient population.
