Description

Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Neuro ICU (12 beds)
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Equipment: Baxter pumps
Documentation System: Cerner
Scheduling: Self-schedule with 6 weekend shifts per period
Floating Policy: Travelers float first to other ICUs or step-down units

Job Description

Care for neurology patients post-thrombectomy and TPA administration
Care for post-neurosurgery patients
Procedures performed on unit include CRRT, bedside EVDs, and arterial line monitoring
Neurology ICU nursing experience preferred

Required Certifications & Licenses

Valid RN license in North Carolina
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Requirements/Qualifications

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Care of neurology patients post-thrombectomy and TPA administration
Care of post-neurosurgery patients

Additional Information

Dress Code: Navy Blue uniform
Unit emphasizes advanced neuro ICU skills and experience
Travelers may benefit from working with experienced staff and new technology on the unit
