CT Technologist

Location: Presque Isle, Maine
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Primarily working in X-Ray with rotation into CT.
• Average 25-30 scans per day.
• Patient care areas include Emergency Department, Outpatient, and Inpatient.
• Patient population primarily adults and geriatrics, with some pediatrics.
• Outpatient cases include oncology, general abdominal pain, post-surgical, and trauma.
• Biopsy experience not required; training provided.

Required Licensure and Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ARRT (R) & (CT) certification
• Maine State license

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience with CTA studies and general CT studies.
• IV start skills preferred.
• Biopsy experience preferred.
• Experience with Toshiba and GE equipment preferred.
• Experience with Siemens X.Cite & GE 16 slice PET CT preferred but not required.

Staffing and Support

• Lead Tech available on unit.
• 2 techs on weekdays and evenings; 1 tech on weekends.
• Radiologist on site.
• Internal transport support.

Technology/Equipment

• EMR system: Cerner
• PACS: Enterprise Imaging AGFA
• CT equipment includes Siemens X.Cite and GE 16 slice PET CT (backup).

Orientation

• 1 to 1.5 weeks, depending on experience and comfort level.

Scheduling

• 7-week rotating schedules.
• Variable shifts; department operates 24/7.
• No guarantee of day or night shifts; flexibility required.
• Weekend rotation varies based on need.
• No on-call required.
• Holiday coverage done in rotation with other techs.
• Return to office (RTO) requires manager approval.

Summary

This is a 13-week CT Technologist contract position requiring ARRT certification and Maine licensure. The role involves primarily X-Ray duties with CT rotation, supporting a variety of patient types and care areas. Flexibility in scheduling and shift times is essential. Orientation and training are provided, including biopsy procedures. Prior travel experience is not required.
