Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER

Location: Midland, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Start date within the next 3-5 weeks
• Minimum 2 years of experience required in Emergency Room (ER) or equivalent size facility

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required for ER

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year, in an emergency room of equivalent size
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Certifications required or must be willing to obtain:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Background checks including 10-year criminal history and state-specific checks required
• Government issued photo ID required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years
  • Rubeola (Measles) – positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Mumps – positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Rubella – positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Hepatitis B – positive titer or series (3 doses)
  • Varicella – positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history of chickenpox
• Drug screening required (10-panel negative drug screen within 30 days of start)
• N95 Fit Test (no PAPR accepted) within 1 year of start
• Flu vaccination or agency declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

• References: 2 references within 3 years of start

• Annual competency exams and skills checklist updates
• Confidentiality and security agreement to be signed prior to start
• Facility-specific orientation and compliance forms to be completed prior to start
