Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER
Location: Midland, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Start date within the next 3-5 weeks
- Minimum 2 years of experience required in Emergency Room (ER) or equivalent size facility
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required for ER
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year, in an emergency room of equivalent size
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Certifications required or must be willing to obtain:
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Background checks including 10-year criminal history and state-specific checks required
- Government issued photo ID required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years
- Rubeola (Measles) – positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Mumps – positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Rubella – positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B – positive titer or series (3 doses)
- Varicella – positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history of chickenpox
- Drug screening required (10-panel negative drug screen within 30 days of start)
- N95 Fit Test (no PAPR accepted) within 1 year of start
- Flu vaccination or agency declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Additional Requirements
- References: 2 references within 3 years of start
- Employment application or resume required
- Annual competency exams and skills checklist updates
- Confidentiality and security agreement to be signed prior to start
- Facility-specific orientation and compliance forms to be completed prior to start
