RN – Rehab

Location: Mount Sinai Hospital, 1111 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10025
Schedule: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Every Other Week (EOW), 3 days/week
Shift Type: 12-hour Night Shift
Start Date: 01/05/2026
Unit Info: 25-bed unit, average census 21

Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse provides safe, competent, and high-quality care to patients in a rehabilitation setting, including those with spinal cord injuries (SCI), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and complex medical/surgical needs. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver individualized care while adhering to evidence-based practice and institutional standards.

Major Clinical Duties:

  • Deliver patient care using nursing process and evidence-based practice in rehab/med-surg units.

  • Manage patients with spinal cord injuries, TBIs, and mechanical ventilation needs.

  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and manage lines, drains, and ventilators as needed.

  • Educate patients and families on care plans, functional recovery, and post-hospital care.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Active NYS RN License

  • BSN required

  • BLS required; ACLS preferred

  • Minimum 2 years RN experience

  • Minimum 2 years rehab and mechanical ventilation experience

  • Med-Surg experience required

  • Travel experience preferred (1 year)

  • EPIC EMR experience highly preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
