Description
RN – Rehab
Location: Mount Sinai Hospital, 1111 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10025
Schedule: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Every Other Week (EOW), 3 days/week
Shift Type: 12-hour Night Shift
Start Date: 01/05/2026
Unit Info: 25-bed unit, average census 21
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse provides safe, competent, and high-quality care to patients in a rehabilitation setting, including those with spinal cord injuries (SCI), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and complex medical/surgical needs. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver individualized care while adhering to evidence-based practice and institutional standards.
Major Clinical Duties:

Deliver patient care using nursing process and evidence-based practice in rehab/med-surg units.

Manage patients with spinal cord injuries, TBIs, and mechanical ventilation needs.

Administer medications, IV therapy, and manage lines, drains, and ventilators as needed.

Educate patients and families on care plans, functional recovery, and post-hospital care.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
Qualifications / Skills:

Active NYS RN License
-
BSN required
-
BLS required; ACLS preferred

Minimum 2 years RN experience

Minimum 2 years rehab and mechanical ventilation experience

Med-Surg experience required
-
Travel experience preferred (1 year)

EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
Education:
