  • Department: Cath Lab

  • Unit Type: Cardiac Cath Lab / Interventional Services

  • Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital

  • Procedure Rooms: 3

  • Average Daily Census: ~10

  • Charting Systems: Epic, McKesson

  • Patient Population:

    • Adults

    • Geriatrics

    • (Occasional pediatric/neonatal cases depending on procedures)

Schedule & Staffing

  • Shift Lengths: 8, 10, or 12 hours (Day shifts)

  • Scheduling Type: Block / Self (unit dependent)

  • Call Required: Yes

  • Floating Required: Yes

  • Weekend Coverage: Every other or every third weekend

  • Orientation Schedule: 4 days (07:30–18:00)

Experience Requirements (HARD STOPS)

  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience REQUIRED

  • First-time travelers: Accepted

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • BLS

  • ACLS

  • Fluoroscopy Permit

  • ARRT (R) or equivalent Cath Lab credential

  • Active State License (as applicable)

Preferred Certifications

  • ARRT CI / VI / Advanced ARRT

  • CCI RCIS or RCES

  • CET

  • PALS

Required Core Skills & Responsibilities

  • Accurate patient monitoring

  • Hemodynamic monitoring

  • Equipment setup and operation

  • Scrubbing and maintaining sterile field

  • EKG lead placement and rhythm interpretation

  • Prep and management of vascular access sites

  • Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias

  • Room circulation and sterile technique

  • Vascular closure devices (Perclose, StarClose)

  • Equipment maintenance, inventory, PACS, and supply management

  • Infection control and isolation precautions

Cardiac Cath Lab Procedures (Required/Expected)

  • Diagnostic cardiac catheterizations (adult)

  • Left & right heart catheterization

  • PCI / PTCA

  • Cardiac stent placement

  • Permanent & temporary pacemakers

  • Impella

  • IABP placement/removal

  • Rotablator atherectomy

  • OCT

  • TAVR / Watchman (preferred)

Electrophysiology Procedures (Preferred)

  • Cardiac ablations

  • Arrhythmia induction & mapping

  • Cardioversion

  • AICD insertion/programming

  • Tilt table studies

Vascular, IR & Advanced Procedures (Preferred)

  • Angioplasty & stent placement

  • Coil embolization

  • IVC filter placement/removal

  • Dialysis graft creation & interventions

  • Endovascular interventions (EVAR / TEVAR)

  • TIPS

  • Thrombolysis / Thrombectomy

  • Upper & lower extremity angiography

  • Central venous access / ports

  • Paracentesis / Thoracentesis

  • Liver biopsy

  • Chemoembolization & radioembolization
