Position Details:

• Location: Mount Sinai Hospital, 1468 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10029
• Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days/week
• Start Date: 01/05/2026
• Shift Type: 12-hour nights shifts
• Requirements: Must have Stepdown experience in a hospital setting, BSN required, minimum 2 years experience

Summary:

The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Patient Care

• Deliver patient care using Relationship Centered Care and nursing process based on evidence-based practice and standards.
• Assess and evaluate patient care needs with critical thinking.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
• Manage assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model.

Patient Experience

• Role model Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care practices including hourly rounding and bedside reports.
• Maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Address patient concerns and escalate as necessary.
• Demonstrate empathy, respect, and active listening.

Quality and Safety

• Practice safe, efficient, patient-centered care.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and institutional review processes.
• Identify and escalate safety hazards following institutional protocols.
• Document nursing practice to support quality initiatives.

Operations

• Perform charge nurse duties as assigned.
• Coordinate supply management and escalate shortages.
• Document accurately following hospital and regulatory standards.
• Facilitate patient throughput efficiently.

Professional Development

• Support clinical colleagues and the healthcare team.
• Advance clinical competence and project a professional image.
• Incorporate ethical decision-making.
• Engage in lifelong learning and shared decision-making through committees.

Skills & Qualifications:

• NYS RN License
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years cardiology, telemetry, and VAD experience
• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Travel experience preferred (1 year) but not required for Per Diem
• EPIC experience highly preferred
• BSN Required
