Unit Overview

  • Primary Specialty: Labor & Delivery

  • Secondary Coverage: Medical-Surgical (Float)

  • Facility Type: Community Hospital

  • Unit Assignment: Med-Surg with intermittent L&D coverage

  • Charting System: Facility-based (details provided during onboarding)

Schedule

  • Shift: Night, 3×12 (19:00–07:00)

  •  

Experience Requirements (HARD STOPS)

  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience REQUIRED

  • Must be comfortable floating to Med-Surg

  • L&D coverage is limited (a few patients per month), but L&D competency is mandatory

Licensure Requirements

  • Active Idaho RN license OR Compact RN license REQUIRED

Floating Expectations

  • Primary assignment: Med-Surg

  • Secondary coverage: L&D (low volume)

  • Must be flexible and comfortable supporting both areas

Call Requirements

  • Call: Required (per unit needs)

Patient Population

  • Adult patients

  • Obstetric patients (limited volume)

Orientation

  • Orientation provided (unit based)

Vaccination Requirements

  • COVID-19 vaccine: Not required

  • Flu vaccine: Facility guideline applies

Key Submission Notes

  • This is NOT a full-time L&D unit role

  • Ideal candidate has strong L&D background and is comfortable working Med-Surg most shifts

  • Flexibility is critical due to rural hospital setting
