Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Short Stay / Observation

Location

Charleston, SC

Duration

13 Weeks (Contract Assignment)

Shift

  • Night Shift: 3 × 12-hour shifts

  • Hours: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

  • Monday through Thursday

  • No Fridays, weekends, or holidays

  • No on-call

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care in a 23-hour surgical observation unit

  • Monitor post-surgical patients, perform assessments, and respond to changes in condition

  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per provider orders and protocols

  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, OR nurses, and PACU staff in a fast-paced setting

  • Float within scope of practice to other observation units or shifts as needed based on census

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience

  • Active South Carolina RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license

  • Ability to work night shifts in a surgical short stay/observation environment

Current Certifications

  • BLS

  • ACLS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in PACU, observation, short stay, or surgical services nursing

  • Experience caring for orthopedic, interventional radiology, or GI procedure patients

  • Previous travel nursing experience
