Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Short Stay / Observation

Charleston, SC

13 Weeks (Contract Assignment)
Shift

Night Shift: 3 × 12-hour shifts
-
Hours: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
-
Monday through Thursday
-
No Fridays, weekends, or holidays
-
No on-call
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care in a 23-hour surgical observation unit
-
Monitor post-surgical patients, perform assessments, and respond to changes in condition
-
Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per provider orders and protocols
-
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, OR nurses, and PACU staff in a fast-paced setting
-
Float within scope of practice to other observation units or shifts as needed based on census
Required Qualifications
-
Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience
-
Active South Carolina RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license
-
Ability to work night shifts in a surgical short stay/observation environment
Current Certifications
-
BLS
-
ACLS
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in PACU, observation, short stay, or surgical services nursing
-
Experience caring for orthopedic, interventional radiology, or GI procedure patients
-
Previous travel nursing experience
