Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: La Plata, MD
Duration:13 weeks
Shift: Days – 3x12s (07:00–19:00), every other weekend required

Job Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Administer respiratory medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, nitric oxide, mucomyst, racemic epinephrine, and other prescribed therapies.
Manage oxygen therapy systems, including HFNC, trach collars, bag-mask ventilation, and oxygen tanks.
Perform advanced respiratory procedures such as CPAP/BiPAP setup, ventilator management, airway clearance techniques, and pulmonary hygiene.
Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) draws, interpret results, and support respiratory protocols.
Provide support in emergency situations, rapid responses, and high-risk deliveries.
Assist with neonatal and pediatric procedures including intubation support, bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilators, and ventilator weaning.
Care for patients with complex diagnoses including ARDS, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, ECMO-related care involvement, and other acute respiratory conditions.
Float within the respiratory therapy specialty as needed to support patient care across units.
Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience.
Active CRT or RRT credential.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required).
Experience with neonatal and pediatric populations.
Ability to work in adult critical care, emergency, and pediatric environments.
Proficiency in ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, high-frequency ventilators, and troubleshooting alarms.
Ability to perform ABGs and interpret results.
Travel experience required; no new graduates accepted.
Must be comfortable floating within scope to various units.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
CPI certification.
Experience with bronchial provocation testing, diffusion testing, spirometry, and other pulmonary function procedures.
Experience caring for patients with ECMO or supporting ECMO protocols.
Strong competency in advanced neonatal/pediatric airway management procedures.
Familiarity with rapid response teams and high-acuity respiratory care settings.
