Description
Title: Physical Therapist – Acute Care Hospital
Location: Tyler, TX
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5x8 hours (08:00 – 16:30)
Job Responsibilities
-
Provide physical therapy services across acute care hospital settings, with potential exposure to outpatient, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing environments
-
Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence
-
Deliver therapeutic interventions for orthopedic and neurologic conditions, including post-operative and post-acute care

Perform ongoing reassessments and support discharge planning
-
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and functional mobility
-
Document evaluations, treatments, and patient progress accurately using the electronic medical record
-
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
Required Skills & Requirements
-
Active state Physical Therapist license (pending license accepted)
-
BLS certification
-
Minimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience

Prior travel experience required

Required experience with Epic electronic medical record system

Strong skills in body mechanics, patient assessment, and therapeutic intervention

Ability to work in an acute care hospital environment
Preferred Skills & Experience
-
Experience across multiple settings including acute care, rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities
-
Orthopedic experience including spine conditions, post–joint replacement, and post-surgical rehabilitation
-
Neurologic rehabilitation experience including stroke, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and cognitive disorders

Strong patient and family education skills

Flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced clinical environments
