RN – MS/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)

Shift: Nights | 3x12-Hour (19:00–07:30)
Start Date: January 12, 2026
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Job Description:

The MS/Tele RN provides nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical-surgical and telemetry needs. The role includes comprehensive assessment, monitoring, and management of patients with cardiac, medical, and post-surgical conditions.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years MS/Tele; first-time travelers accepted
  
  Local rule: Locals under 50 miles are not allowed.

• Licensure/Certifications:

  • MD RN License

  • BLS

  • ACLS

  • NIHSS

  • CPI

• Schedule: 36 hours/week; must work every other weekend

• Holidays: Required as scheduled

• On-call: Not required

Unit Details:

• Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric

• Patient Ratio: 1:5

• Common Diagnoses:

  • CHF, Chest Pain

  • Cellulitis, Osteomyelitis

  • Pancreatitis

  • Post-amputation care

  • Small bowel obstruction

  • Afib & other dysrhythmias

  • Cancer, Palliative care

• Special Procedures:

  • EKGs

  • Drips: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Lasix ( non-titratable; parameters only )

• Special Equipment:

  • Telemetry monitoring

  • Monitor techs

  • IV pumps

  • O2 therapy

  • Pulse oximetry

  • Vital sign machines

  • SCDs

  • Bed/chair alarms

  • Chest tubes, Foley catheters

Floating:

Required within specialty areas and to lower acuity units as needed.
