Description
Job Title: PICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Duration: 13 Weeks (Travel Contract)
Shift:
3x12-hour rotating shifts

Primarily Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (2 months)
-
Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (1 month)
Weekend and holiday rotation as required
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide critical and intermediate care to pediatric patients (ages 0–18) in a 28-bed PICU
-
Manage mixed ICU and stepdown patient assignments with ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 based on acuity
-
Care for medical and surgical pediatric patients including respiratory failure, trauma, post-operative, and neuro/neurosurgical cases
-
Utilize advanced life-support therapies including ventilatory and cardiac support
-
Assist with ECMO, CRRT, dialysis, and other complex supportive therapies as needed
-
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and pediatric specialists
-
Float within scope of practice to meet unit and facility needs
-
Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications

Active South Carolina RN license or Multistate/Compact RN license
-
Minimum 2 years of PICU experience

Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays

First-time travelers accepted
Current Certifications
-
BLS – American Heart Association (AHA)
-
PALS – American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with ECMO
-
Experience with CRRT
