Title: Electrophysiology (EP) Cardiovascular Technologist
Location: Charleston, SC
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5×8 hours (08:00–16:30)

Job Responsibilities and Required/Preferred Skills & Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in the Electrophysiology (EP) and Cardiac Cath Labs

• Prepare procedure rooms, set up equipment, and ensure sterile field maintenance

• Perform EKG lead placement and patient preparation, including access site prep

• Monitor patients and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias

• Scrub, circulate, and assist during procedures including:

  • Diagnostic catheterizations (adult)

  • Permanent and temporary pacemaker insertions

  • Pulmonary artery (PA) line insertion

  • Right heart catheterizations

  • Cardiac ablations, conduction studies, and cardioversion

  • Insertion/programming of AICDs

• Maintain and operate EP lab equipment, fluoroscopy, Siemens systems, and ultrasound devices

• Ensure infection control and sterile technique throughout procedures

• Document procedures accurately in Epic EMR

• Maintain inventory and prepare necessary supplies for daily cases

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of EP or CVT experience

• ARRT or CCI certification

• South Carolina QRSA license in-hand (or in process with proof)

• BLS and ACLS certifications

• Proficiency with Epic EMR

• Radiation badge provided by agency (required)

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• Teaching or community hospital experience

• Experience with perioperative cardiac procedures

• Flexibility to float between like units if needed

• Knowledge of adult cardiology patient care and cardiac rhythm interpretation
