Description
Title: Ultrasound Technologist – General
Location: Charleston, SC
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3x12-Hour (19:00–07:30), Friday–Sunday
Job Responsibilities:
-
Perform high-quality general and vascular ultrasound examinations for adult and geriatric patients
-
Conduct abdominal ultrasound studies including liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, appendix, and abdominal aorta
-
Perform abdominal Doppler and vascular studies including color flow and Doppler imaging
-
Perform renal, bladder, pelvic, prostate, ovarian, uterine, and vaginal ultrasound exams
-
Assist with OB/GYN ultrasound exams including first-trimester imaging as needed
-
Perform small parts imaging including thyroid, testicular/scrotal exams, and superficial masses
-
Support emergency department, ICU, and portable ultrasound examinations
-
Assist with transplant-related ultrasound studies (liver, pancreas, renal)
-
Adhere to isolation precautions and patient safety standards
-
Accurately document exams and findings using Epic and PACS
-
Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely diagnostic imaging
-
Float between main hospital and affiliated buildings as needed within scope of practice
Required Skills & Experience:
-
Minimum 1 year of recent General Ultrasound Technologist experience
-
Proficiency in abdominal Doppler imaging required

Experience in Level I Trauma and teaching hospital environments preferred
-
Prior travel assignment experience required
-
First-time travelers considered only if coming from a large teaching facility

Ability to work independently on night shifts
Required Certifications & Licensure:
-
ARDMS certification (required)
(AB and/or OB/GYN preferred)
OR -
ARRT (S) – Sonography (required)
-
BLS – American Heart Association (required)
-
South Carolina state ultrasound license not required
